Because of the July 4th holiday, there is NO general meeting this month!
There will be a picnic ride on July 3rd, to Ft. Davis. Bring a picnic, and plan on meeting everyone at the Midland DPS on Loop 250 at 8:00, kickstands up at 8:10. Anyone in Odessa wanting to go, can be at Red X Truck Stop on FM 1936 about 8:30 and catch the riders as they come through. After the ride, we will go to Smurf and Tracey's for a fish fry!
OK, the fish fry...everything is being furnished!! The only thing you need to bring is your own fireworks, if you want to shoot any.
Tracey is asking that you call her by June 30th to let her know you are coming to the fish fry. This is just common curtesy. They don't want to prepare for 20 people and have 40 show up! Somebody would end up going hungary, and feelings might get hurt! So, to avoid any of that, just give her a call, please.
The camp out weekend at Kerrville was a good one. Only a few people showed up, but everyone had a good time. Those that went were Ed, Nola, Mary, Tracie B, Mike B, Tom, Tommye and Nola's friend, Coco. Schreiner Park is a really pretty place, and BIG! It covers both sides of the highway, one side is the river, and the other side is the hill side. The cabin we stayed in was clean and had an A/C that worked great! We were all gratefull for that, because it was hot and humid. Mike said his A/C wasn't working too good in his kwik kamp, but he was ok.
We went into town and ate at a nice restaurant Friday night, had good sea food and a view of the river. Saturday the ladies went to Fredericksburg to the trade show, bought a few things, then went to Medina to the Apple Store, and had ice cream. We bought all things Apple for supper dessert, and on the way back, stopped in Comfort at Manny's Cafe for some really good Mexican food. We rode a twisty road, Highway 16, and found a super nice Adult only RV campground. It's not an overnight one, but has permenent residents. If I was brave enough to move, it would be a nice place to live!
Tom cooked burgers for us that night, and that fresh apple pie for dessert just hit the spot!
Our next scheluled campout is July 8-9-10 at Hordes Creek, with PBMA . I don't know all the details on this yet, but I do know we have a cabin with spaces around it for 8 campers! So if you would like to come, call Shirley and she can give you details.
We have voted in 3 mandatory Club campouts per year. They will be in March, September and October. Anyone wishing to do an additional campout? Just get the details, present it to the Club and be ready to spearhead the trip! We need 2 month advance notice, in order to give everyone a chance to get their schedules situated.
The ladies of the Club are going to try to do a Ladies Lunch/Dinner every quarter.
I was told there is a good on-line leather shop now. It's called Antalope Leathers. It might be a good place to check out if you're needing new leathers.
The next Officers Meeting will be July 19th, 7:00pm at Mama's Kitchen in Odessa. The next general meeting is on August 6th, Casa Lopez in Midland.
We have a new prospective member, Wanda Foster. Be sure to introduce yourself to her at the meeting, and welcome her into the Club.
Just a thought: Money will buy a bed, but not sleep; food but not appetite; a house but not a home; books but not brains; religion but not Salvation. What are you looking for out of your life? Wealth, happiness or Heaven? Remember that the Lord Jesus will be returning for His Bride, very soon, I think. Are you ready?
Thats it for this month! Remember to watch out for everyone else when you ride, 'cause they sure aren't watching out for us!
Ride safe and keep the shiny side up!
Mary T.
