March 2012 T-Twister Newsletter

The annual spring Time Change is upon us…that’s right, on Sunday, March 11, we get to turn our clocks FORWARD one hour, and therefore we lose an hour of our life! Ugh, I hate this one, but, on the positive side, our evenings get longer! I wish Texas would join the states that just leave the time alone. As I get older, it’s getting harder and harder to adjust to the change!
IMPORTANT:
Our March 2 general meeting will be at Water Valley, so don’t go to Warfield on the 2nd of March expecting a meeting…won’t be anyone there! We have something to discuss at the meeting, so be there, (Water Valley), or be square!
We (T-Twisters) are hosting the TMRA Area D Chili Cook off on March 2-3-4 at Water Valley. So, once again ladies, knock the dust off the baking pans and whip up a couple of your famous cakes to bring with you! We’re having a cake auction after the cook off, and all items will be appreciated and sold to the highest bidder!
The Club is providing sandwiches for Friday night, Ed is cooking breakfast on Saturday and it’s potluck for Saturday night. Everyone bring veggies for the potluck! Most people forget to bring veggies last October, so it was a little thin…I think I’ll bring some cornbread, IF I don’t forget!!
Tom and Tommye won’t be there, they had a personal Invite to cook at the Outlaws and Legends Rally in Abilene that weekend. That’s quite an honor, to have such a good reputation that the Rally organizers call you and want your business! Congrats to TJ’S Dogs!!! The rally is expecting several thousand bikes. It’s just too good a deal for them to pass up, and those of us that work…understand!! We’ll see them at the next get together.
Bob and Jan are bringing their new “rolling home” to Water Valley. They bought a 2001 Holiday Rambler Admiral, with two slides. She said she really likes it, but hasn’t gotten it all “homified yet. That just comes with time. They haven’t sold their old motor home, yet. So if you think you might be interested in something like that, contact them, and see what they want for it.

SMART or STUPID? You decide!
This took place in Charlotte , North Carolina .

A lawyer purchased a box of very rare and expensive cigars, then insured them against, among other things, fire. Within a month, having smoked his entire stockpile of these great
cigars, the lawyer filed a claim against the insurance company. In his claim, the lawyer stated the cigars were lost 'in a series of small fires.'
The insurance company refused to pay, citing the obvious reason, that the man had consumed the cigars in the normal fashion. The lawyer sued and WON!
*** (Stay with me.)
Delivering the ruling, the judge agreed with the insurance company that the claim was frivolous. The judge stated nevertheless, that the lawyer held a policy from the company, in which it had warranted that the cigars were insurable and also guaranteed that it would insure them against fire, without defining what is considered to be unacceptable 'fire' and was obligated to pay the claim. Rather than endure lengthy and costly appeal process, the insurance
company accepted the ruling and paid $15,000 to the lawyer for his loss of the cigars that perished in the 'fires'.
*** NOW FOR THE BEST PART...
After the lawyer cashed the check, the insurance company had him arrested on 24 counts of ARSON!!! With his own insurance claim and testimony from the previous case being used against him, the lawyer was convicted of intentionally burning his insured property and was
sentenced to 24 months in jail and a $24,000 fine.

This true story won First Place in a past year's Criminal Lawyers Award contest.

If you haven’t already done so, please get your dues paid. I’m working on the new membership list and if you want your name in it, ya gotta get the money in!!
Attention all officers…April 20 is the next officers meeting, don’t forget to mark it on your calendar.
Well guys, I guess that’s it for this month. I’ve been seeing more and more bikes on the roads lately, and that’s only natural considering that good riding weather is upon us. Just remember that the four-wheelers don’t watch out for us, so it’s up to us to watch out for them! Please be careful, ride and enjoy!
God bless all of you!
Ride safe and keep the shiny side up!
Mary
