November 2012 T-Twister Newsletter
OK, I am officially ready for winter to be over! There was a little frost on my windshield this morning when I left to go to church, even tho the thermometer showed 37 degrees. I just am not ready to waltz with Old Man Winter yet, but I don't think I'm going to be given a choice in the matter. Oh well, I guess it's time to drag the coat out of the dark recesses of my closet, and leg warmers from the bottom of my dresser drawers. Come on, Jack Frost, let's dance!!
Last weekend was our annual Chili cook off at Water Valley, and things couldn't have been nicer. The weather was perfect and lots of people turned out. The winner of the raffle ticket was a gentleman from Midland, and if I hadn't lost my notes, I could tell you what his name is!! He was really surprised when Eddie called him, couldn't believe he had won! The Chili winning cook was Sam Phillips, and the Best Bean Pot prize went to Al Thurman! Congrats to both of you! And a special "Thank-you!" goes out to Pete for his message of God's love that he shared with us Sunday morning! There is no nicer way to start ANY day! Thank you, EVERYONE!!!
Saturday, November 3rd is the next general meeting. It's at Casa Lopez in Midland, at 10:30. We will be electing our 2013 officers, plus making plans for the Toy Run and Christmas Party. We will also be deciding what to do with the proceeds of the Chili cook off. If you want to voice your opinion on any of these matters, be at the meeting! I checked the weather for Saturday and it's supposed to be partly cloudy, and in the mid 70's. Perfect riding weather! Come prepared for a ride!
Mark your calender for November 17th. That's the day for our 2012 Toy Run. Be at Midland Power Sports by 8:30am with a new, unwrapped toy, (or 2!) and join us in eating and visiting. Kickstands up at 10:00 sharp, when we'll head out to Channel 9 news with the toys. Come out and help make a child's Christmas a good one!
Our Christmas party will be at Casa Lopez on Dec. 15th at 7:00pm. Bring a White Elephant gift with a value no larger than $20:00. If you bring a child with you, be sure and bring a gift for them to unwrap that is child appropriate. There will be more on this later.
Don't forget to turn your clocks BACK one hour this weekend! Hurray! This is the one I like, I feel like I get to spend a little more time with my pillow...'

Thank You Lord for this Thanksgiving Day, I have a few words I have to say.
Thank You for breath to live, for the Holy Spirit to give,
For eyes to see, for the strength to be free,
For ears to hear, for words that appear,
For a mouth to speak, and knowledge to seek.
For my hands to act, for my feet on track.
For my heart to love, for gifts given from above,
For my mind to do Your Will, for my soul to be still.
For my body to live, for actions to give,
For all my remaining days, to sing Your praise.

For the birds and the bees, for being on my knees,
For colorful butterflies, for the joys and the sighs,
For trees dressed in green, for a world to be seen,
For mountains so high, for the clear blue sky
For oceans so deep, for on beaches to sleep.
For Your Animal Kingdom, My thanks from within.
For a house and a bed, warmth, light and bread.
For music and sound My thanks are profound.
For vision and sight, And the glorious night
For weather so pleasant, For angels - heaven-sent
For the sun that shines, for the jewels that are mine.
For family and friends, for love that never ends
For life everlasting, in Your Love I am basking
For the language of prayer, for always being There.
For the miracle of creation, For free gift of salvation.
Thank You for You Lord, Your love is my reward.
- Mary A. Shovlin

Ride safe and keep the shiny side up! See ya! Mary T.
