Water Valley Campout May 6-8 Empty
PostSubject: Water Valley Campout May 6-8   Water Valley Campout May 6-8 Icon_minitimeMon May 09, 2011 6:25 pm

We had a really good turnout at Water Valley this last weekend. We sure missed those that didn't get to make it.
Charles & Shirley, Eddie Ray & Wilma, Al & Mary, Mario & Grace, Mike & me, Johnny, Ed, Junior, Michael (Ed's son-in-law I think?), and Emily (Ed's 6yr Granddaughter) oh and of course the dogs.
Mike and I got there about 6:00pm Friday. We got off late start due to heat. We rode with Ice packs to try and stay cool.
Most everyone was already there except Johnny and Ed and his gang. They came in later.
Food was really good. Eddie Ray did most of cooking with a little help. We had burritos Friday night, Biscuits, sausage and gravy for Breakfast Sat. Morning, Hodge podge for lunch of left overs, hamburgers for supper Sat. and sausage & egg burritos for Sun. breakfast. Oh and not to forgot the wonderful homemade cookies and mmmmm good fresh fruit. That all went Really Fast...
Ronny came in Sat. Morning on his way home. He stayed for our General meeting but went on his way afterwards. He had already been away from home for 2 weeks so couldn’t talk him into staying.
Sat. was miserable HOT. I think it got to around 102+. Really wore me down. Of course there was the friendly game of poker both nights and general sitting around telling stories. Sure was a lot of laughing going on. Even had a few games of Washers. The championship never was held due to HEAT delay. Oh and next time you see Mike ask him about his shower!
I was very surprised to see so many other people camping at the park. There was a big group down by the river were some of us usually camp at. And few other vehicles coming and going.
All in All it was really nice, just wish could have been cooler.
Maybe we can do this again and weather be a little better
