March 2015 T-Twister Newsletter
What a beautiful day today was, so we, like a lot of other guys on bikes, decided to RIDE!! And I'm happy to report that I wasn't the only one that had trouble starting my bike! Considering the winter we've had this year, and the length of time some of those bikes had been setting up, it was no surprise. Mine had to be push started! But there were 15 of us with our faces in the wind, and it was wonderful! I didn't realize how badly I needed some wind therapy! Ed, Eddie Ray and Wilma, Derrell and Brenda, Pete and Janice, Smurf and Tracey, Norman, Terry Bates, Patty and friend Celeste, new prospect Chuck, and me! We rode to the Huddle House in Kermit and ate lunch. We made plans for riding next Saturday, weather permitting, to Lubbock for lunch.
We welcome our new prospects, Chuck and Cindi Greathouse; and Bobby and Peggy Hennis, of Midland! We're looking forward to getting to know you and spending lots of good times together over the next year!
And we want to give a great big "high 5" to our newest full members; Pete and Janice Klein; Derrell and Brenda Groom; Jerry and Ronnie Kawamura; Clayton and Amber Elkins; and Mike Blodgett!! Our Club is growing!!

The Sweetheart Ride to Lubbock was great!  The weather cooperated and was perfect, although it was getting pretty nippy by the time I got home. The coat felt good! You need to ask Janice about her birthday song at Joe's Crab Scack...unforgettable!
They were playing great old rock music at Joe's, and we hadn't been there too long when the song "YMCA" came on. We were all singing to it, and several of the ladies were standing doing the hand motions. We were a little loud, but it was great fun. While his was going on, Pete got a text from a co-worker that said " you should be here, we're in Joe's Crab Shack in Lubbock and there's this bunch of crazy bikers that's singing to YMCA!", and Pete had to tell her that he WAS there, and it was his crazy bikers singing with the song!
Those who made the ride were Ed and Nola; Pete and Janice; Smurf and Tracey; Eddie Ray and Wilma; Charles and Shirley; Johnny and Tammy met us there; (and boy, was it Good to see them!) Chuck and Cindi; Terry; Patty; Mary; and Dennis.
And I want to say THANK YOU to my guardian angel who rode all the way with me!!

The March general meeting will be at Water Valley on Saturday, March 7th, after lunch!!
The Club is providing all sandwich meat and the meat for the Hobo STEW, plus all breakfast items. Here's a list of more things needed, and people that have volunteered to bring it. Patty is bringing crackers, mustard and mayo; Brenda and Janice will bring tortillas; Debie, Janice and Brenda will bring bread; Tracey is bringing grated cheese; Carla is bringing water; Shirley is bringing water, lettuce, tomatoes and onions; Wilma is bringing cheese and grapes for the judges; I'm bringing potatoes, picante and jalapenos.
Everyone needs to bring 2-3 cans veggies for the Hobo stew we're having Saturday night, and we need cakes and brownies for the cake auction!!
Greg Cole was nominated...volunteered... to be the official Club Chili cook for the March cook out. Ed promised, after much prodding, to make a batch of CA chili for those of us that appreciate that kind.

This weather is CRAZY!!! I thought I lived in Texas but I'm beginning to think I've been tele-ported somewhere else. This is a first for Odessa-Midland; on Monday the schools were closed due to snow, then it happened again today!! And  the weather forecasters are saying another cold front is coming in this weekend...just in time for Water Valley!! Spring, WHERE ARE YOU???
In order for a member to stay on the mailing list, you must attend at least 1 (ONE) meeting AND 1(ONE) Club event a year.

Well, guys, that's it for this month. I'm looking forward to seeing you all this weekend. In the meantime, ride safe and keep the shiny side up!
Mary T.
