We survived the Speedometer Run Empty
PostSubject: We survived the Speedometer Run   We survived the Speedometer Run Icon_minitimeSun Mar 20, 2011 2:43 pm

Sat. March 19 We meet (Ed, Junior, Eddie Ray, Mary & Al, Bob & Jan) up at Stripes. Kick stands up about 1:20pm. Ed our fearless leader was in the lead. Went south on 1788. He lead us down so neat Back roads, freshly plowed Cotton Fields with 30 mile winds. Very Happy We both still have sand in our teeth and we had full Face helmets. Wonder how those that didn't faired. Ended up at Sonic in Staton.
Ed's odometer read 68 miles. Ed was the winner of the contest. Club bought his and Juniors lunch. We challenged the accuracy of Ed's odometer but we were overruled by superior numbers. Laughing We sat and visited for some time before braking up and heading different ways. Eddie Ray, Al & Mary headed to an Estate Sale somewhere. Ed & Junior, Jan & Bob and us headed back west on I20.
We stopped at Army surplus store just at closing time, but Mike kicked into warp drive and caught back up and passed them. Wind was pretty rough on the way home for sure. We had fun sure missed all those that didn't brave the winds.
Hope to see Everyone at the Next One.!!!!!
(We forgot to take the camera)
Mike & Mel
